Will someone find Pete Loughran a job!!! Please

Even though he lives at home with his mother, Peter Loughran apparently can't survive on his legislator salary. The man dubbed "chronically underemployed" by Ulster Publishing's Hugh Reynolds is so desperate for a job that he is now targeting Commissioner of Jurors Richard Mathews position. The chatter in Kingston is after his recent failed attempt at Board of Elections, Loughran is telling everyone that he deserves a patronage job because he has paid his dues to the Democratic Party.

The information we have is the Juror job is coming up for appointment. Loughran and fellow Kingston Democrat Dave Donaldson are working on a plan to oust Mathews. Mathews job is a four year term appointed by Chairman of the Legislature, County Court Judge, and longest serving Ulster County Supreme Court Judge, i.e. Karen Peters. With Donaldson a Democrat and County Judge Michael Bruhn a Republican it would come down to Judge Peters to decide appointment. Loughran is telling anyone that will listen that Donaldson is putting "pressure" on Peters to back him. We sincerely hope Judge Peters will not succumb to pressure and will stay with Richard Mathews. We are unsure if the pick will shift to Executive from Chairman after January 1st. If the decision goes to new Executive then Mathews job is safe. Hein and Bernardo would likely support Mathews.

We will keep you apprised of any new developments.

How about appointing a non-legislator?

If he hangs on a few more years, he can collect social security.

Interesting....you don't post all the comments that are left.

You are no different than places like Kingstontruth or Blaber.

Poor!

I love your blog. It's so juicy. You should call it TMZ Ulster County.

It's so insider, I don't even know some of the people that you talk about.

Please don't assume that everyone knows everything you are talking about. Non-insiders like me don't always know the people, so it's helpful when you "over explain" the background and who some of these people are.

It seems like you have a lot of basic background information on the people that you talk about. It would be great if you could share a little more knowledge about your subjects.

Thanks

COMPUTER SKILLS
•Word Perfect 6.1, Microsoft Works, Microsoft Word, Print Shop Deluxe, Publisher, Lotus, and Quicken.
•I have spent the past fifteen years using various applications and have become proficient in most of them.

FYI - Mr. Loughran failed to list his complete work history. Mr Loughran worked for the Kingston Housing authority, in the past, when mayor Galllo was in Office. This is not listed on his Resume. Mr Loughran was let go from this job, and not because of downsizing, Mr Loughran was let go for other reasons. It is really bad when you are let go from a govement job. This was under the leadership of former director Mr Steven Fisher. Mr loughran says he works for kingston school district, while We do not need dishonest teachers in the classroom. Mr. Loughran, it is time to be honest with the Kingston School district, and the children in this community, and list all of your previous employment history compltely, or maybe you are to ashamed of why you were let go of your job at KHA. Maybe it is time the Kingston School distict - Human Resourses are notified of true honest employment history, and look into your real Career work history. It is time for Mr. Loughran to submit complete honest resume to the Kingston School district. Mr Loghhran states in his resume, "I have spent the past fifteen years using various applications and have become proficient in most of them." I guess Mr. Loughran is not proficient in being honest. Mr loughran claims he presently works for "JR. Smith & Associates, Media research analyst on network television projects for such firms as HBO and Discovery New Paltz, New York 12561 Phone: (914) 255-0160 " well, it has been several years since we have transferred over to the 845 Area Code, so if Mr Loghran is still working for JR Smith and associates, how can we contact him at JRs office, as the phone number does not work, if you call 845-255-0160 Is this company still in Business? or is this another dishonest statement on the Mr. Loughrans resume. Mr. Loughran states working at this place till "Present"

Mr. Loghran, in the past, sold real estate for his friend Fred wadnola. Mr Loughran failed @ the PeachTree Restaurant.
Richard Mathews is doing a fine Job at the Court house, so PLEASE Mr. Loughran stop the rumors. You are 50 Plus years old living with Mommy. Maybe you can try again for a third time to become the Dem elections Commisioner, when Ms.Kathleen Mihm retires. You are not deserving of any political appointted job, as you have not proven yourself, and we need hard working, trusting honest people to serve us, in both elected and appointted postions of goverment.

Why is Loughran owed a job, what has he done as a Legislator?

This is really a cheap shot at Pete
I have known Pete for almost 20 Years. He is hard working, cares for the community and has been re-elected to either the Common Council or the UC Legislator for
about 25 years. He is a good man
and I am proud to call him my friend.

Who was his partner with that restaurant again? Oh yeah, DONNA SPADA.

I intend to post every comment. I might have deleted one or two by accident. Sorry if it was yours.

to 12:58,
If I don't publish a comment it is because it has a baseless accusation of criminality. otherwise, anything goes.

It's DIANA Spada, not Donna...obviously you're not as well-informed as you'd like to think!

Often, people don't put their entire work history on their resume because it's insignificant; the time was so short or because the tasks are irrelevant to the job for which one is applying. E.g., if you're applying for a clerical job, why would you keep a maintenance job on your resume? What about your first job as a teenager working at Sear's in the Kingston Plaza? Would your prospective employer even care?

You must have too much time on your hands if all you can do is trash someone. Why don't you feed the hungry and help the homeless instead of being so vindictive and spiteful? There are a lot of charitable organizations that could use your energy. Go to Angel Food East (AIDS victims) or the Queen's Galley or collect blankets or something. Do something constructive with your life - help others.

Stop the hate.

You should practice what you preach, be honest with your reporting, Pete Loughran was not in busniness with Donna Spada. By the way, you show your ignorance by not knowing there are many "in business, who have failed" they remain winners for at least trying. It's one thing to attack an individual for their lack of qualifications not for trying. There are many who fail and give up to blame everyone but themselves. Pick yourself up,dust yourself off and start all over again, is a good trait. This blog has a lot to offer but please don't go over the line.

Bob Gillion states loughran is a Hard working guy. there is nothing in his resume posted above that states loughran is hard working, and there are no cheap shots taken at loughran. the facts are the facts. it looks like the posting (12:32PM)shows loughrans true lazy colors.
I have been a democrat in ward #6 for years, and gillion, who by the way lost the last election (2007) to a GOP by 191 votes, he was the only democrat to loose in a City wide democratic sweep. Maybe lazy loughran should move to ward # 6 with his good friend gillion, as it appears gillion does not have many friends in ward 6, according to the election results. gillion was former chair of the city democratic committee.
I challenge gillion to spell out 5 hard working things that loughran has accomplished in past two years, in the legislature. I am sure gillion will need to call loughran at moms loughrans house, where loughran lives, to see what loughran has accomplised. Loughran has accomplished NOTHING, so dont waist your time to call you good friend. gillion states that loughran cares about the community, well if loughran cared enough about the community, he would not be dishonest on his resume. according to the posting on this blog of his resume.
Ward # 6 democrats - We want rich mathews back, for reappointment, and keep loughran over on liberty st with mommy. I agree with posting (12:32 PM) the taxpayers deserve honest hard working representives to serve us, not self serving dishonest elected officials

I don't think there's any shame in mulit-generations living together. It saves money and takes care of people who need extra help.
