Schreibman's party a bust

Members of the Ulster County Democratic executive committee held a meet and greet fundraiser last week. Sources tell us that during the two hour party there were never more than 15 people attending at any time. Fishbowl confirmed from two attendees that Julian Schreibman tried his best to put on a happy face but was visibly upset by the lack of interest among party members.

This was the first Schreibman sighting in Ulster County for several weeks. Sources tell us his law practice is all but dead in Kingston and he's living in NYC during the week.

This is not lack of participation by Dem's. It is lack of support for anything that has his hands on it. Wait until you see what happens at the brunch. All these people that put him where he is are the ones who do not support the party. They do not donate and they do not go to dem events, or help candidates and he is finding that out the hard way.

I was at the meet and greet the entire time. Though I don't understand the importance of the maximum number of people there were at any one time, I can tell you that they took in a "whopping" [close to] $500 - that's 50 people altogether. That's not too shabby for a casual get-together prior to the executive meeting. It certainly won't get the committee out of the thousands of dollars of debt with which Parete encumbered us (for the Clarion).

Once again, you refuse to understand (or maybe you're unable to) that Kingston is the satellite office for the law firm in NYC which employs Julian.

Your diatribe against Julian is getting old. You sound like a defeated person who is bitter and angry, and it's more than about time that you pick yourself up and dust yourself off.

You have nothing about yourself on "view my complete profile", so you don't have the balls to disclose who you are, yet you continue to trash the Dem chairman.

You're clearly not part of the solution (getting Dems elected), so you're part of the problem. You're more than likely one of the Bradley supporters who said to the Sennett supporters "you lost, get over it". Back at you.

(Let's see if you have the balls to post this - since you never allow anything anti-Parete to get posted).)

Gotta love the last post. Talks mighty tough, then signs off anonymous. Typical. John Parete Jr.

So what. The author of this blog remains anonymous. He or she is setting the ground rules. Like it or not, 11:49pm got it right.

the only people at the meet and greet were julian and his wife. everyone else either didn't show up or left of boredom.

6:44 - so, which were you? The one who left of boredom or the one who didn't show up?

Defend Julian all you want, but three things cannot be argued. 1) he is not visible at all (whether he is in NYC or at his house, he is not at all visible); 2. he has failed to get a candidate for Clerk, which is pathetic. A Dem has to run for that position; 3. He has no idea what he is doing in the County Judge race. He has now told the town committees not to meet with the candidates assuming they are going to rubberstamp his handpicked Patterson appointee. Don't count on it. What is an endorsement from Patterson worth today?...not much. Williams is obviously going to be Repub candidate...you better have a good candidate.

Bottom line he is on the verge of losing two elections to Republicans when no one even thought that was possible last year.

10:03 - agreed...but it might be easier for a Dem to come forward to run for county clerk if (s)he knew they could count on Dem support...Hinchey is not going to back a Dem, nor will Sottile.

Ok simple facts:

Schreibman has been on the scene since November, and we have had ONE, count it ONE Democratic Fundraiser and hardly ANY events of any sort. Woopie, a Meet and Greet, I feel like those should be done about once a week, not once a year, and the first meet and greet should have been back in January at the latest. I remember I ASKED several of Julians supporters where he was during the last few months, and I was very rudely told "working, he has a brief Do".
Frankly, if he couldnt handle the job, he shoudnt have signed up for it, and so shoot me for wanting to know where the head of the democrats was during an election year!!! If you dont work in the area, if you have so much work you cant appear at your own events, and you have a new baby, what in gods green earth made him think that taking this position would be a good idea??

How are the Dems supposed to get anywhere when our leader is EVERYWHERE ELSE?!
