Julian Schreibman resorts to gutter politics against former boss

Schreibman took Ulster County politics to a new low today when he unleashed an unwarranted attack against his former boss. In a Times Herald Record article we learned Schreibman filed a complaint with the Office of Court Administration against County Judge candidate Don Williams. Schreibman complains that Williams spoke at Nina Postupack's fundraiser and said if he were permitted to endorse a candidate, he couldn't think of anyone more qualified than this beautiful lady to my right.

As it turns out Screibman filed the complaint with the wrong office, the complaint should have gone to the Commission on Judicial Conduct according to Kali Holloway, a spokeswomen from the Office of Court Administration. Schreibman is not held in high regard by many in Ulster's legal community, but this takes the cake. He doesn't even know what office to file the stupid complaint. I wonder if that was in his Yale University political handbook.

A look at Schreibman's past reveals below the belt tactics is his trademark. This is the same guy that ripped apart Vince Bradley and called former Democratic Chair John Parete corrupt, he undermined John Sennett's campaign after losing to him at the convention, he started a petition to have Parete removed as Dem chair after Sennett lost the DA race and we all remember his showing at this years convention when he made up a story saying the governor appointed John Katz for judge. The most telling act of what kind of person Julian Schreibman is, is he filed a frivolous complaint against his former boss, a man who helped bring him and his family to Kingston. Shreibman doesn't have an ounce of loyalty or integrity.

I wonder if Schreibman knows that at a recent women's group meeting Deb Schneer stood up with Gilda Riccardi and told the group that Ulster County needs to elect women and everyone should work hard to support and vote for Gilda.

This is a clear sign that desperation has settled in among Democratic leaders. They know Don Williams and Nina Postupack are running away with their respective races. Julian taking the lowest of low roads won't help anyone.

Julian used to work at the Justice Department for George Bush. If it's not Yale's playbook he is using we know who's it is.

Well Said, Fishbowl,,

some of yr posters will try & expalin the Dem Chair's blunders away or smear more mud on Don, but nothing can stop the Williams campaign.

some of Ulster County's best & brightest are working with our illustrious former D.A & he will be elected, no matter what the radical left wing of the dems can do. Kempe, Hoffay, Schreibman, et al will fail.

Williams is still guilty of what he is being accused of.

The fear here is mounting. "Legal community" looking down on anybody here is laughable and Williams could be convicted of calling Postupak "beautiful" with a straight face! This blog is really making us all very comfortable with the obvious Democratic sweep this fall.

Wow, 4:39 sure isn't one of the "best and brightest" is he? Dummies fer Williams on display!

Why didn't Don Williams run for re-election as D.A.?

The biggest joke was Schreibman saying that the Williams campaign was going to "negative campaigning" against Schneer. The question I have for Schreibman is: If they are simply asking voters on the phone if they are aware that Schneer has defended criminals her whole career and never tried a single case in County Court, how is that negative when it is the absolute truth about her qualifications with no editorial. It would appear based on the article that they are leaving the voters to judge the meaning of her experience. If the Dem's don't like the truth about their candidate, then they should not have nominated her. Schreibman is getting very desperate.

Shame on Schreibman...and if Schneer put him up to it...shame on her.

9:24-You're not a bright one are you? That is sleazy and underhanded to call and insinuate Schneer would be soft on criminals. You not recognizing that reflects pretty badly on you. Williams being supported by sleazebags reflects badly on him. Lack of perspective is one of the intellectual deficiencies common to the conservative brain disorder. Schreibman may be nitpicking but at least he's way above that sleaziness.

Don is a good guy but he's part of the county's "good old boy society". These people have driven the county into the ground.

We're just begining to make progress in beating back these hacks. Winning this race would only give these "gool old boys" a toe hold.

Besides, has Don ever presided over a courtroom? Well other than Walter Maxwell's tired old radio studio the answer is NO!!

Hey, 4:39.
I cannot speak for the others, but I can tell you Kempe is not involved with any county-wide race.

If judicial candidates are not allowed to endorse candidates in other races, why is it OK for either Williams or Schneer to even attend a candidate's fundraiser. Just being seen there is a silent endorsement all by itself.

Sounds to me like they both have pushed the boundaries on this issue, so this one is a toss up.

Schneer's limited experience running a court room is not much of a selling point. Schneer was one of two town justices in Rochester and the junior one at that. I would vote for the other Rochester Town Justice, Al Babcock, before I would vote for her.

Schneer has extremely little experience, as an attorney in any capacity, in the kind of cases that come before seat for which she is running, while Williams has years and years of experience.

Gutter politics seems to be the way all parties Ulster county are going look at the Republican convention not enough lets call some Dems in and make them committee people. Then there is the Independence the lowest of low in gutter politics

Don Williams'campaign comment was very cleverly crafted. It is clearly not a conflicted statement However it was probably designed to elicit a stupid response by the democrats. They{Schreibman} succeeded in making themselves look petty and stupid at the same time. I think I've changed my mind on the vote for Judge

Read the article on Don Williams and Nina Posupack, and then went to You-tube. Williams comments were very well developed, most likely by a professional minced. The comments did not violate any judicial guidelines.Paul Brooks wrote a very accurate article that showed no substance.Brooks, doesn't like tripe like this, and may well have written the piece to the embarrassment of Schneer and Schreibman. The advisors should be fired before it is to late. It may already be to late

Great job by Schreibman with that press release. Now instead of a couple hundred people hearing about his candidate's poor qualifications, he has every person who reads the Record learning about them and Don Williams saying everything he said was true. He just gave Williams thousands of $'s in free advertising. By the time they get to the complaint to the correct agency, Williams will be running for a second term.

Regardless of the insinuation or conclusion that the voters may come to, all Williams campaign was doing was stating the truth. Has she not defended criminals or represented criminals for the majority of her career? Answer: Yes. Some may call that altruistic public service. They would commend her for it. Others would say they would rather not have that individual deciding the fate of convicted felons in our county. The fact that the latter may make up a larger voting block than the former is what Schreibman was pissed off about. There was nothing but truth in what WIlliams was said. He may have been near the line, but he did not cross it.

Classic case of truth hurts!

Schneer has zero qualifications. None. Nada. Zilch.

She never did arraignments because the cops wouldn't take criminals to her.

She can't hold a candle to Don Williams.

As for Riccardi, the only thing she has going for her is that she isn't quite as unqualified for clerk as Schneer is for judge. What a great reason to vote for someone.

Anonymous said...

Voters opposed to The Good Ole Boys network in Ulster County will not vote for Williams or Postupack. Period.

Anonymous said...

Postupack comes no where near Riccardi in terms of qualifications. She's scared to death of having to actually run for office. I can't wait until they debate.

Schneer has no experience and no qualifications. She is a complete fluke. There were hundreds of more qualified candidates. The police are already panicked dealing with her hug a thug, no reality, no clue, judicial midst of confusion. The DAs Office has to do twice the work to make up for her boobery. The NY justice system is already, a joke, no teeth. We don't need a judge to give criminals another hundred chances. Schneer essentially wants to let drug felony offenders and even violent felons walk...which happens enough already without her incompetent, misinformed, misguided, sympathetic, liberal, whiny, I need counseling, psychobabble, nonsense garbage. This state needs an enema.

Won't Williams be double dipping as he's receiving maximum State pension after Sheriff made him a job?

Anonymous said...

Williams should not take his pension if he wins the election. This is definitely double dipping.
