With her latest accusation, loudmouth legislator Susan Zimet continues to show her stupidity.
Sources tell us that a recent meeting attended by Ulster County Sheriff Paul VanBlarcum, District Attorney Holly Carnright, and loudmouth Zimet. Sue made some serious for the record statements about Ulster County's law enforcement officials and officers. Zimet told her audience that New Paltz Police and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office (URGENT team) are allowing drug sales to take place directly in front of the New Paltz police station. We are told Susan said that high level people in the Sheriff's office and New Paltz police department are directing officers to allow drug sales and not arrest anyone. Zimet said illegal drug sales are happening in broad daylight and police are looking the other way.
We did a little research and found that Ms. Zimet was opposed to the hiring of the new Police Chief in NP and is trying to have him ousted. There is a power struggle between Legislator Zimet and New Paltz Supervisor Toni Hokenson.
One has to really question the mental fitness of a public official when they make these sort of accusations against others with absolutely no proof.
We here at the Fishbowl appreciate the hard work of the law enforcement community and we resent the big mouth's accusations against Sheriff VanBlarcum and the men and women of his department and those who work for the New Paltz PD.
Zimet--go after someone else to score your political points.

This anonymous blog is a cheap copy of Blaber's News and Commentary. The constant attacks on Zimet and Schriebman, the unwarranted praise for Rich Parete, and the idolatry for Sennett(a great picture with his name highlighted)is getting really old.
To your credit you are posting opposing views, however you have no credibility because you hide behind your blog.
Zimet was the head of the movement to terminate the entire New Paltz Police force when she was Supervisor. She has a hard-on for the cops like most liberal dems,,,,
She is totally anti-police!
This is the cornerstone of our deep mistrust of Zimet & her ilk.
Any good that she does ( Ulster County Veteran's Cemetary ) is offset by her acting like this,, going off with false info & misguided actions.
She is a fool but has amazing support from the Hinchey Dems,,, fools all of 'em

Although, I do agree with you, the praise for Parate is abit much.
There is a pattern to Zimet (and her husband Steve Auerbach) attacking New Paltz Supervisors:
Zimet/Auerbach attacked fellow Democrats Carol Roper, Don Wilen and now Toni Hokanson.
Zimet & Auerbach are political thugs. The truth itself is always the first casualty in their war on other Democratic leaders.
I remember when during public comment at a town board meeting Auerbach accused Supervisor Wilen of "bankrupting the town." WRONG. There was over a million dollars in the unexpended fund balances, but Auerbach didnt know which figures to add up. Zimets husband has a history of making especially hysterical accusations about budgetary matters. Some might think Auerbach was well-meaning albiet misinformed, but it seemed to me that he knew exactly what he was doing: telling the "big lie" about Wilen and to hell with the truth. Of course, if Auerbach was truly concerned or confused about the budget, he could have asked Zimet (or anyone knowledgable) to explain it to him so he wouldn't have made a complete ass of himself in public.
